December 31, 2007 was a sunny beautiful day and so I wanted to photograph the view from my bedroom window. Such a beautiful day to end such a hard year!!! Somehow that seems a bit magical.
I was out gardening and when cutting the old dahlias off the plant I noticed this bee sitting so calmly amongst the petals.
So I put it in the yard waste bin with the other flowers thinking he would fly away. I then had awareness that things were piling on top of the flower and maybe he was still in there. So I went digging and pulled it out and there he was. :( I felt so badly so I then tried to coax him onto my gardening glove which he did with a little struggle. Like a drunk bee.
I then decided to move him to a friendlier place for him to feel safe so I moved him to this flower and it took a while to get him onto the flower but he seemed to appreciate it and there he sat exposed. :(
I was hoping he would be ok and he moved around it. He was orginally facing frontwards and moved this way. I left him alone and didn't want to mess with his journey too much. I was afraid if he stayed there all night he may get eaten by a spider. ;( So I looked a little while later and he was gone so I hope he found a safe place to rest. :)
I went out to water my Dahlias and out jumped a brown frog. They tend to live in the hose reel so I have to be careful when unwinding it. I caught him and released him under the deck where he would feel safe.
I then went over to cut the old dahlias off the plant before watering and when I started watering this frog jumped on top of the spiral staking I have. I ran for my camera but he had moved so I reassured him I was not going to hurt him.
So this is the best of all of them seeings the plants were partially in the shade. I did spend some time talking to him.
This photo was taken in the morning outside of my naturopath's office. The sun was behind the clouds and this photo turned out completely unexpected. It looks so mysterious and almost haunting. I fell in love with it. I get excited when photos turn out this way.
